Amazon has added Kindle Vela The episodic reading platform for Android devices and the Kindle app for Fire tablets addresses one of the top requests from Kindle Wella authors to reach a wider audience.
The Kindle Wella was only available in the Kindle app on iOS and the web since its launch in July. Android users were previously able to use Wella via the web, but the experience was not integrated into the Kindle app.
Wella is not currently available on the Kindle e-reader. Amazon hasn’t said when that might happen.
Users can find the Wella title by tapping on the Kindle Wella link in the top menu in the Store tab in the Kindle app on Android or Fire tablets, or by searching for the name of the author or story.
Vela is Kindle Direct Publishing Platform Expansion For freelance writers. It is designed for mobile reading, with each episode ranging from 600 to 5,000 words. Readers get the first three episodes for free, and buy tokens to unlock further episodes.
