Ant-Man and the Wasp 2 star Paul Rudd has praised Jonathan Majors’ performance as Kang the Conqueror in the film.
“I love everything he does, and I see what he’s doing in it, and I’m taken out of it,” Rudd said. Diversity. “It’s really fun to bring new people into the fold, and the enthusiasm that people have is admirable.”
Details on the Marvel sequel, officially titled Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantomania, are being kept tightly under wraps. Majors was first introduced as the Who Remains in the Loki season finale itself, but would play a version of the character in Ant-Man and the Wasp 2 – Kang the Conqueror. The time-traveling villain has the potential to be the MCU’s next Thanos-level threat, so anticipation for his first substantial appearance is running high.
Quantummania isn’t over until 2023, and in the meantime, the MCU has a lot in store for us. Then there’s Eternal, a cosmic entry into the MCU that will span a vast time span, then there’s Hawkeye on the small screen, which will see the Avenger on a Christmassy adventure with its protagonist, Kate Bishop.
The end of the year is Spider-Man: No Way Home, a multi-faceted extravaganza that will see Alfred Molina return as Doctor OK — and potentially Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker too. Marvel, focusing on Kamala Khan, was originally scheduled for an early 2021 release, but is now headed for a 2022 release. The character will also appear in Captain Marvel 2, aka The Marvels.
