The company’s CEO says a new Brothers in Arms game is currently in development with Borderlands studio Gearbox Entertainment.
in an interview on Game Maker’s Notebook Podcast, which has now only been released on YouTube, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford revealed that his studio is currently working on a new Brothers in Arms game.
When discussing fellow Gearbox title Aliens: Colonial Marines, Pitchford explains how the game was announced long ago; Given that Fox and Sega were so excited about the project they actually disclosed it before the contract was signed.
After talks it was revealed how the developer likes to announce things much later, using as an example Borderlands 3, which was not announced until it was in beta.
Pitchford then revealed that “we’re working on another Brothers in Arms game” although the studio doesn’t plan to say anything more about it “until we have it.” He continued, “We have fans who really like it [series]But they just have to suffer.”
The Brothers in Arms series is currently made up of 10 games with the first release in 2005. The last time we got a chance to play a new Brothers in Arms game was in 2014 in the form of Brothers in Arms 3: Sons of War. Released on mobile only. The main entries in the series have been primarily tactical shooters during World War II, with the last major entry being 2008’s Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway.
If you’re not familiar with Gearbox, you’ll probably recognize some of the other titles they’ve worked on. The studio is primarily known for working on the Half-Life series, as well as making and continuing to make games in the Borderlands series. The studio recently announced a Borderlands spin-off Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands release date Which is scheduled for 25 March 2022.
