Explosive news: Christopher Nolan has found the star who will play the father of the atomic bomb in his next film, Oppenheimer, and now it’s got a date. Cillian Murphy Jay will play Robert Oppenheimer in Nolan’s planned film, which begins July 21, 2023.


Nolan didn’t have to look very far for his leading man: he directed the Batman Begins and Dark Knight sequels as well as Murphy in Inception and dunkirco. Murphy recently starred in a quiet place part 2, and after shooting Oppenheimer he will make his TV starring role with a Peaky Blinders film in 2023.

Shooting in 2022 on IMAX cameras, the film was produced by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin’s Pulitzer Prize-winning nonfiction book, American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Based on Robert Oppenheimer. The book and film tell the story of the American scientist leading the US military Manhattan Project To develop a nuclear weapon during World War II.

After the film is supported by Universal Pictures. Nolan’s long-standing relationship with Warner Bros. has soured Following Warner’s decision to release its time-twisting blockbuster Tenet on the streaming service HBO Max.
