Colombian Proptech Habi Achieves Unicorn Status, Raising $200M Led By SoftBank And Homebrew

The startup did not reveal its exact valuation, saying only that it has achieved unicorn status, meaning it is now valued at over $1 billion.

The company last raised a $100 million Series B in June 2021 led by the SoftBank Latin America Fund. Since its founding in 2019, Habi has raised over $315 million in equity. Banco Mercantil del Norte, SA, Institución de Banca Múltiple, Grupo Financiero Banorte, Tiger Global, Inspired Capital, Clocktower Ventures, Endeavor Catalyst and Henry Kravis, among others, participated in the latest funding.

Over the past year, Habi says it has been working on building its services and its own database to be able to offer customers a full suite of services, including iBuyer, brokerage, financial services and a marketplace.

“With strong partnerships and an expanded market presence, we are in the very early stages of building the infrastructure to deliver much-needed information, trust and liquidity to a housing market that desperately needs it,” said Brynn McNulty Rojas, co-author of Habi. founder and CEO, the statement said.

In January 2022, Habi announced the acquisition of online marketplace Propiedades.com and iBuyer Tu Canton as part of its efforts to expand its footprint in Mexico.

The company plans to use the new capital to expand geographically in Hispanic Latin America and redouble its efforts to introduce embedded financial services.
