Common Gmail problems and how to fix them

How to Block an Email Address on Gmail

If you know the email address you want to get rid of, it’s easy to block. Once blocked, any incoming email from the sender will be sent directly to the Spam folder. The process is similar using the Android app.

  1. go for Gmail.
  2. Use your credentials to sign in.
  3. Open the email sent from the address you want to block.
  4. Click on the three-dot more button at the top-right corner of the email.
  5. Choose the block [name or email address].

If you want to unblock an email address, follow the same steps you see above. Finally, you will be asked if you want to unblock them instead of blocking them.

Alternatively, you can unblock addresses manually by going to:

  1. click on gear Adjustment icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Choose see all settings.
  3. go to Filter and block addresses tab.
  4. You will see a list of blocked addresses. Select the addresses and click on Unblock selected addresses Button.

Unsubscribe from mass email

If you want to get rid of a specific mass email subscription, it is not necessary to completely block the sender of the email. You can unsubscribe from the email list by following the steps below.

  1. go for Gmail.
  2. Use your credentials to sign in.
  3. Open Mass Email.
  4. You’ll see cancel membership button next to the sender’s name. It can also be labeled change preferences.
