samsung galaxy book go

The new Samsung Galaxy Book Go is designed to let you move lightly and in almost silence. It also doesn’t rely on a fan, so you’ll never hear of a laptop this new.

Where the lack of a fan may worry some power users, the Galaxy Book Go packs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 processor for excellent performance management. You’ll get a durable design with a 180-degree hinge to share your screen with the rest of your team. Samsung’s 18-hour battery life should be more than enough to last your longest workdays.

As always, you can pair your new Galaxy Book Go laptop with your other Samsung devices. Share texts from your Galaxy S21 or hook up your Galaxy Buds Pro for some wireless playback.

A 5G-ready version of the Samsung Galaxy Book Go is somewhere down the pipeline, so stay tuned for the next powerful laptop.

Alienware X15 and X17

The Alienware M15 and M17 have served as the backbone of Dell’s gaming power for the past few years, but it’s time for something new. While the names are changing, Alienware’s commitment to powerful and portable gaming machines hasn’t been certain.

Now you can choose between X15 or X17 gaming laptops and grab everything Alienware has to offer. The main difference is whether you want the 15.6-inch display or the 17.3-inch version, but the internals are all about speed. You’re looking at an Intel Core i9-11900H processor, Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3080 GPU, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and more.

However, Alienware laptops have never been the lightest or thinnest on the market. The X15 and X17 don’t change that in a big way, but the evolution of Cryo-Tech has made this pair one of the company’s slimmest pair. You can use the power of four fans instead of two, and the Element 31 keeps your laptop cooler by up to 25%.

If you really want power, you can add a 240Hz Quad HD panel to your new Alienware gaming laptop and customize every last letter on your AlienFX keyboard.

HP Omen 16 and 17

The HP Omen 15 received an impressive refresh in 2020, and it’s time for the rest of the family to join in. You won’t find a fancy new Omen X 2S, but traditional laptops are here to compete with the best. from them.

We’ll start with the all-new Omen 16, with its 16.1-inch display and either Intel or AMD internals. Should you choose Intel, HP can offer up to 11th-gen Core i7 processors paired with Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 graphics. You can pack your Omen with a Ryzen 9 5900HX processor and AMD’s side RDNA 2 GPU.

Outside of the core components, you’re looking at up to 9 hours of unplugged gameplay and a 165Hz display on both configurations. Both models also rely on Omen Tempest cooling to stay closed under pressure.

If you want the bigger Omen 17, you’re limited to Intel internals, but that’s not a bad thing. You’ll have an 11th-gen Core i9 processor at your fingertips and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3080 graphics to match. The screen is a bit big at 17.3-inches, but you have Omen Tempest cooling and a little extra keyboard space to keep you locked in.

Dell XPS 15 and 17

As always, Dell kicks off its latest refresh with the most popular XPS 13 model. Now, the big sibling has joined in the fun, and they’ve cemented their place as some of the best new laptops to buy. The changes aren’t massive, but there’s usually not much to change after refining a machine as Dell has done.

The major move in both the XPS 15 and XPS 17 is to switch to 11th generation Intel Core i7 and i9 processors and up to 64GB of RAM. You can take your pick from Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3050 or 3050 Ti GPUs on the XPS 15, while the larger model swaps out the Ti for an RTX 3060 option.

Dell didn’t bring much back in the way of ports, but the bezels are as thin as they ever were, and the new XPS laptops continue to inch closer and closer to perfection.

Apple MacBook Pro M2

We spent much of 2020 digging through rumors and waiting for concrete information on the M1 MacBook lineup, and it was well worth the wait. Apple managed to pack a lot of power into its first ARM chip, and now we can get our hopes up for a second round. While we don’t know exactly what we’re going to get, we’ve seen some hints at the refresh of the 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch models.

Some leaks suggest that the MacBook Pro may move to the same flat-sided design as the iPhone 12, and the 14-inch size would mean larger overall dimensions. Of course, nothing is decided yet, WWDC is taking place in early June.

We also don’t see the return of the USB-A port, but the microSD card slot could make a winning return. While we know a lot about the other laptops on this list, the MacBook m2 generation is a mystery waiting to be seen.

MSI Creator Z16

The new MSI Creator Z16 is here as a creator’s dream machine. It seamlessly blends performance and style to help you craft art on a laptop that looks just as good. The MSI Creator lived up to its human-centered design philosophy on the Z16, offering a round and fluid look that’s comfortable to carry around.

The best MSI computer you can buy

You can expect the latest 11th generation Intel Core i7 CPUs with Nvidia 30 Series graphics. MSI even went so far as to adopt a 16:10 display to get closer to the gold ratio. The optional touchscreen and Wi-Fi 6e help round out your overall experience and bring the creative power back under your control. Thanks to the full 90Whr battery with fast charging, you don’t have to worry about powering up as often.

The MSI Creator Z16 comes peripheral-ready with two USB-A options as well as two USB-C ports. You also get a headphone jack and a microSD card reader for your creative pursuits. If you shun a new laptop this expensive, the MIL-STD 810G certification should bring some peace of mind.

hp victus gaming laptop

If you find yourself attracted to HP’s Omen refresh, you might want to check out the new Victus line. It matches the Omen 16 with a 16.1-inch display, sacrificing something to save on price. Like its more expensive sibling, you can choose between Intel and AMD hardware, though you’ll find an Nvidia GeForce GPU at home on either version.

You’ll also get the same 165Hz display found on the Omen line, making the Victus one of the best new gaming laptops out there. If you don’t like the simple black finish on HP’s other gaming rigs, Victus adds Mica Silver, Performance Blue, and Ceramic White options to the mix.

The brand new Victus isn’t as thin or light as some of the others, but the trio of USB-A ports should work well for your older peripherals. Unfortunately, you’ll just have to wait a little longer to shake hands with this bad boy.

Lenovo Legion 7i

Not to be outdone, Lenovo is jumping on the upgrade game with its flagship Legion 7i. There’s also a more affordable Legion 5i, but the 7i is the cream of the crop. It matches the MSI Creator Z16 with a 16:10 display, though it’s topped with an Intel Core i9-11980HK paired with an Nvidia RTX 3080 GPU with 16GB of GDDR6 RAM.

You’ll get a Corsair keyboard and Wi-Fi 6, along with Lenovo’s Coldfront cooling technology to boot. Right now, the Legion 7i is as mysterious as it is exciting, so we don’t have too many details to offer. However, we expect it to land soon and put a little strain on your wallet.
