Valve Festival for upcoming games runs from June 16 to June 22
E3 2021 is technically over, and without the show floor to demo things, a lot of developers lost the opportunity to spread the word about their games. Xbox has a way, collecting indie game demos on home consoles, and now Valve is launching its own version for PC games. latest steam festival, next festival, launched today with hundreds of demos of upcoming games and livestream playthroughs and interviews with developers if you’d rather watch than play.
Running from June 16 to June 22, Next Fest features a variety of games, some of which weren’t spotlighted during last weekend’s E3 livestream and loose collection of keynotes. Some of the notable sports included in the festival are sablehandjob chasing statichandjob Lakehandjob tomehandjob and narco.
Valve has been running these online festivals from time to time since the pandemic started as a way to fill the void of in-person events like the Game Developers Conference. While it may be a bit more hit or miss than the big splash showcase at E3, Next Fest seems to be packed with interesting ideas. Plus all the demos are free, so it doesn’t hurt to give any of them a spin.
