“While developing Eternal, Ajak and Makri were the two characters I was most excited about,” Gillan said in the book’s announcement. “I had so many ideas. The problem was trying to find a place to present them in a way that gives enough room to show what a charming, funny, and really heartbreaking weird couple they are. “
Strangely enough, the prehistoric Avengers they’ll face are an unnamed version of the team they started in 2017. Marvel Legacy #1 Which appears in the current Avengers run. This pre-Avengers squad is composed of new versions of what would become classic archetypes in team lore: Odin, the first Black Panther, the first Iron Fist, the first Wizard Supreme (Agomoto), the first Earth with the Phoenix Force (Firehair), the first Ghost Rider. , and a starbrand (not the first, but the second).
“I’ll be honest — the first time I saw Ghost Rider on the back of a giant, I thought ‘I’ll do some of that, thank you very much,'” Gillen said.
