It’s been barely a week since Far Cry 6 was released, and the mods are starting to show up. There aren’t many of them yet, but one in particular is sure to please a bunch of players. This is a simple solution to a prime FOV problem.
Far Cry 6 has a FOV slider, but PC players quickly noticed that it was a bit limited. While you can use the slider to change your FOV setting while walking, your face is slammed back into the extremely suppressive FOV of about 50 as soon as you jump on a car or horse. It’s even closer than the default on-foot FOV. A setting of 75, which is a bit shocking, and it doesn’t matter how much you move the slider: You can’t change your FOV on a car or a horse.
It’s disturbing, like driving with your eyes pushed against the windshield. And on horseback, as you gallop, a lot of your screen real estate is taken up behind your horse’s head.
Far Cry 6 FOV Fixer Mode Will take care of that annoying problem. It doesn’t allow you to set a different FOV value for horses driving or riding, instead preserving the FOV setting you choose for walking and applying it to everything else .
I tried it and it works fine. Above is a small comparison I recorded showing how it looks both pre-mod and post-mod on horseback (I set my FOV to 110). Very good! I’ve even boarded a couple aircraft, and it seems to improve the inside view of the various cockpits as well, although the difference doesn’t seem quite as dramatic.
this is easy to install. Download the zip from Nexus Mod and extract the contents to the Far Cry 6 bin folder. If you are using Ubisoft+ there is a separate zip and you will extract it to your bin_plus folder. Mean talk. I’d recommend copying and backing up the mod replacement file, called FC_m64d3d12.dll, just in case you run into any problems down the line.
