Showcasing your startup at an early stage in TechCrunch Disrupt this year looks very different than in previous years, and this is really big news. For the first time, TechCrunch will invite a group of 200 early-stage startups, officially known as TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 200 — in TC Disrupt.

The only way an early-stage startup can compete at Disrupt, or—be careful guys—participate in the world-famous Startup Battlefield, is by going through the TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 200 application process. A selected 200 people will receive free exhibition space in the showroom for all Disrupt day. You read it right. Say goodbye to pay-per-play.

Apply here no later than 31 July. Acceptance notices will begin sending out on July 1 so you can plan your October.

The creativity and quality of start-up startups and their founders never cease to amaze us. But historically, choosing just 20 startups to participate in the Startup Battlefield and demo for free meant we had to say no to a lot of incredible, investment-worthy startups. This new supervised process allows 200 outstanding startups to participate and benefit from the Startup Battlefield program.

However, this is not a walk in the park. The TechCrunch editors – a very astute group – will be reviewing thousands of submissions and the competition will be fierce. If you are successful, you will receive VIP status, including full access to shows, exclusive workshops and pitch training (in addition to free exhibition space). All TC Startup Battlefield 200 founders speak to TechCrunch investors and editors. Such exposure has the potential to change lives.

From the Startup Battlefield 200 cohort, TechCrunch editors will select 20 companies to become Startup Battlefield finalists – choosing 20 out of 200 is still a difficult task. These founders will receive private training, perform on Disrupt’s main stage in front of the entire TC audience, and get a chance to win a $100,000 prize, as well as huge investor interest, media coverage, and a well-deserved right to brag.

Just being selected to participate in TechCrunch Battlefield 200 will increase your credibility and serve as a great talking point when you start a conversation with potential investors and clients.

Think you have what it takes to join TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 200? To get started, your company must:

We are accepting applications as they come in, so don’t delay; send an application here URGENTLY. The deadline is July 31st and we will begin sending out acceptance notices on July 1st.
