Apple Podcasts Subscriptions is officially launching June 15 after delay

You’ll soon be able to subscribe to your favorite podcasts through the official Apple channels: Apple Podcast Subscription Officially going to go live on 15th June.

Apple Podcasts subscriptions were revealed for the first time April Spring Loaded event, but was delayed from its original May launch to its June release window. Now, Apple has confirmed that its subscriptions will go live via email to podcasters on June 15, according to ledge.

Apple said it pushed back the launch of podcast subscriptions “to make sure we’re providing the best experience for creators and listeners alike.” It’s too vague to attribute to anything specific, though it’s possible the company wanted to address unpopular changes made to the Podcasts app that messed with third-party apps that surfaced podcast feeds.

Apple apologized for the Podcasts app redesign in iOS 14.5, which Apple planned to begin addressing with the release of iOS 14.6.
