OnePlus Nord CE 5G release date, price, news and leaks

OnePlus Nord CE 5G is official – OnePlus announced it in an exclusive Nerdshala interview, but the company didn’t reveal all that much about it in the process, though a second exclusive Nerdshala interview filled in more blanks.

We know a few things about the new Nord, and rumors about other things, which you’ll find below. The full unveiling of the OnePlus Nord CE 5G is scheduled for June 10, so we’ll find out everything else.

From what we’ve heard so far, it looks like the OnePlus Nord CE 5G will be an affordable successor to the mid-range OnePlus Nord. But it’s probably not the OnePlus Nord 2, and will likely be cheaper than the original Nord (especially for the Core version in the form of the CE) despite some new features.

In addition to leaks and news about specs and features, you’ll also find information on a possible release date and price below, and we’ll update this article whenever we hear more about the phone.

cut to the chase

  • What is this? An affordable successor to the OnePlus Nord
  • When is it out? It is being announced on June 10
  • How much will it cost? Expect a low mid-range price

OnePlus Nord CE 5G release date and price

OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus Nord CE 5G will be unveiled in full on June 10, so it’s not long to wait.

This may not be when you’ll be able to buy it for sure, for example the OnePlus Nord going on sale almost two weeks after it was announced. That said, the wait for the OnePlus 9 was only three days, so it’s hard to predict how long we’ll wait for the Nord CE 5G to go on sale after the announcement.

We don’t know the exact price as far as its pricing goes, but Pete Lau (the company’s CEO) has told Nerdshala that it will come at an “even more affordable price” than the OnePlus Nord.

For context, the OnePlus Nord starts at £379 / €399 (about $480, AU$680), so expect a price lower than that, probably in line with the OnePlus Nord N10 5G, which starts at £329 (about $430 / AU). it happens. $595).

However, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G is currently only confirmed for Europe and India, so with the original Nord you probably won’t be able to buy it in the US or Australia.

The original OnePlus Nord is affordable but the CE feels even cheaper

news and leaks

While OnePlus has revealed the existence of the OnePlus Nord CE 5G, the company hasn’t said much about its specs and features – although the name given it clearly supports 5G.

In addition, Lau has made some vague remarks that indicate what we can expect. He said for example that “we’ve limited the original Nord to its core elements, and added a few extra features to make a great everyday phone”, suggesting that it may be lacking some of Nord’s features. But some things can be achieved.

Elsewhere in our interview with Lau, he said that “there are some classic key features that we brought to the OnePlus Nord series this year to ensure that we are providing a fast and seamless experience with the Nord series.”

What can they mean by flagship features that make it fast and smooth? Well, in our subsequent interview with Oliver Zhang, head of product at OnePlus, we heard that the phone will feature 30W charging, 90Hz AMOLED display, and 5G connectivity – the latter you can probably guess from the phone’s name.

We’ve also seen the design of the display – you have too, as it is the image at the top of this article. It’s not much different from the original Nord, though it notably only has three cameras, not four like the first Nord.

A chipset upgrade is also possible, though perhaps less likely if it’s set to be a cheaper phone than it seems.

That’s all we’ve heard about the OnePlus Nord CE 5G so far, but we’ve also heard a rumor about the OnePlus Nord 2, and it’s possible that this rumor is actually talking about the Nord CE 5G.

The Nord 2 is believed to be powered by the high-end MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. We doubt the Nord CE 5G will get it, as it seems to be a cheap phone, but then again the MediaTek silicon is likely to be cheaper than Qualcomm’s chipset, so it is possible.

  • We are also waiting for the OnePlus 9T
