Peacock is NBCUniversal’s streaming app, with thousands of hours of free programming, and more shows, movies, sports and originals if you pay. Only paying members can access everything on the service. This usually means you have to pay to watch full seasons of its originals like, its new true-crime drama show; Boss Baby 2 (aka The Boss Baby: Family Business), the animated DreamWorks sequel now in theaters; And, most likely, One of Us Is Lying, a teen crime thriller based on a best-selling book, is coming soon.
Peacock released his teaser for One Us Is Lying on Wednesday, only noting that the series will be streaming soon. But if one of us is lying, like the rest of Peacock’s original, you’ll need to sign up for a $5- or $10-month subscription to watch all of its episodes.
Peacock’s paid tier also unlocks all, including extended episodes with deleted scenes from season three; premier league soccer matches; Cowboy Drama Yellowstone; Everything WWE; And scattered popular movies like Trolls World Tour and The Godfather.

Comcast-owned NBCUniversal’s Peacock was just one of a flurry of new streaming services from the tech and media giant, launching over the past year and a half. Competitors include other new services such as, , (reform of CBS All Access) and of , as well as vets like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Hulu.
But Peacock is unusual among these rivals because it has this free tier. It is also unusual among the crop of new services in that it has live sports and news; Most of the latest streaming services are completely focused on video-on-demand entertainment along the lines of Netflix. Other difference: Mayur has “channels” of TV, but these are not livestreams of his network. Instead, they are curated feeds of short programming or full episodes, organized around a theme.
So is Peacock worth paying for? All the finer details are below, but basically: Thanks to the free tier, it doesn’t cost anything to try it for yourself. But Paying for Peacock may be a good fit for you if: you really want to watch The Office or any of its other paid shows or movies; You are a WWE Superfan who wants to access all that programming; Or you’ve been spoiled by Netflix for hating commercials.
How can I watch Dr. Death and Boss Baby 2 on Peacock?
Dr. Death is Peacock’s new true-crime drama series, and the first three episodes on the service are available to stream even if they have a free account.
But to unlock the show’s eight episodes, you’ll need to be at either Peacock’s $5- or its $10-per-month tiers; Read the sections below for more information on the tiers and discounts that might make them cheaper or even free for you.
DreamWorks Animation’s animated sequel The Boss Baby: Family Business hits theaters on July 2, but is also available to stream at the same time on one of Peacock’s premium, paid tiers. Members in both the $5- and $10-month tiers can watch Boss Baby 2 at no additional cost.
Anyone who watches Peacock on a free membership cannot stream Boss Baby 2; You will need to upgrade to a premium account.
How and when can I stream One of Us Lying?
Peacock is yet to confirm a release date for the juvenile crime mystery series; The latest teaser for One Us Is Lying only says that the show will be “streaming soon”.
In case one of us is lying, like most Peacock Originals programs, a selection of episodes will be available to stream to all Peacock users, whether they have paid accounts or not. But generally, full sessions of Peacock Origins are reserved for those with a paid subscription. Dr. Death and Girls 5 Eva, for example, each has three episodes available to watch outside the paywall.
How much does a peacock cost?
Peacock has three tiers: a limited one that is free, an all-inclusive one that’s $5 per month with ads, and an all-inclusive one that’s $10 per month without ads.
The free tier limits how much you can watch. For example, Peacock offers only select episodes of its originals for free, withholding the rest within its paywall. Free accounts can watch the first two seasons of The Office but no more. And although there are many movies available on this free tier, some – including Boss Baby 2 – are blocked until you upgrade. This limited free tier has access to nearly two-thirds of Peacock’s total catalog of movies, current season TV, TV classics, curated daily news, sports, Hispanic programming, and curated channels.
The paid tier is basically an all access pass to the full catalog on the service. Peacock Premium is $5 per month or $50 per year with ads, or you can upgrade to Peacock Premium Plus for ad-free viewing at $10 per month or $100 per year (this Premium Plus tier is also the only which lets you download to watch offline).
Advertisement levels must contain no more than five minutes of ads per hour.
What deals does Peacock offer?
Some people can get discounts that deduct the cost of Peacock if they are already customers of certain cable companies. Peacock gives Comcast X1 and Flex customers the paid versions of the service at a $5 discount. So if they want to watch with ads, they don’t pay anything for Peacock Premium; If they want to watch ad-free, they have to pay $5 per month for Premium Plus.
Cox customers also get that $5 deal. Mayur has said that it is working on a partnership to offer this discount to a wider range of consumers.
In January, NBCUniversal said it entered into an agreement with cable company Charter Communications for spectrum video and broadband customers to receive an extended free trial for Peacock. Those offers haven’t started yet.
Pricing runs the gamut in Peacock’s competition.
Among services that have ad-supported options, Hulu is $6 per month with ads and $12 per month ad-free. CBS All Access charges $6 for its tier with ads and $10 for the ad-free version.
By comparison, Netflix, which has no ads, offers its cheapest tier at $9 per month, while its most popular plan is $14.is $5 per month, is $7 per month, and is $15 per month. None of them contain ads.
And none of these competitors—whether with or without ads—offers a free tier like Peacock.
Does Peacock offer a free trial?
Peacock previously offered a standard seven-day free trial for new members at one of the paid tiers. But the service quietly ended those free trials in late June, when Boss Baby 2 was released on the service at the same time it hit theaters.
What’s up with WWE on Peacock? What if I subscribe to the standalone WWE service?
Starting March 18, Peacock began streaming WWE programming just before Fastlane, streaming the first WWE “pay-per-view” event on Peacock. (All so-called pay-per-view WWE events are available at no additional cost to Peacock Premium subscribers.)
WWE Network’s standalone streaming app continued to work until early April. But now subscribers needTo be able to keep watching WWE Network content. The advantage of this change is that the WWE Network, which includes all “pay-per-view” events, will now be available at Peacock Premium for $5 – half the price of the WWE Network’s service. Peacock’s $10 per month tier will enable access to all of the same WWE programming; The only difference is that the priceless tier is strip out advertising.
Peacock has a dedicated WWE page for browsing and streaming every “pay-per-view” event over the past calendar year; the current or most recent season episodes of the WWE Original Series Steve Austin’s The Broken Skull Sessions, WWE Chronicle and WWE Icons; The day after the new weekly episodes of NXT air, as well as 30 days after the 2021 replays of Raw and SmackDown aired; documentaries including Undertaker: The Last Ride, WWE 24 and WWE Untold; Reality series including Total Bellas; and a collection of featured series, topical moments like “Stone Cold” Steve Austin Weeks, and playlists featuring current superstars.
Peacock said it will continually add WWE Network content to the library, making the entire WWE Network archive — including every WWE, WCW and ECW PPV event in history — available to stream on demand ahead of SummerSlam in August. Peacock Premium will be home to all upcoming pay-per-view events and the current season of WWE Original Shows.
On the free tier, Peacock will also introduce a new WWE “Channel”; Select WWE Original Shows; reality shows like The Miz & Mrs, Total Bellas and Total Divas; Recent in-ring material; and new weekly episodes of select live shows like Raw Talk and The Bump, Both live and on demand.
