disturbing collection

In its analysis, Nerdshala Breaks the new terms into two sections. While the first part contains changes that will likely help TikTok’s ad-targeting and augmented reality efforts, the second part that deals with the collection of biometric information raises eyebrows.

“We may collect biometric identifiers and biometric information from your User Content, as defined under US laws, such as Faceprint and Voiceprint. Where required by law, we may obtain any necessary permission from you prior to any such collection.” Will ask,” reads the disturbing section of the new terms.

The statement is concerning because it does not specify whether the Platform will comply with federal law, state law, or both. This is important because barring a handful, most US states do not have biometric privacy laws, according to reports.

when questioned by NerdshalaOf course, TikTok failed to confirm which product developments require the new segments to be inserted, though a spokesperson confirmed that the platform will ask for consent if and when it starts collecting biometric data.
