The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE was one of the more popular flagship devices released last year, and for good reason. It managed to get a lot of bang for the buck while offering premium features like a telephoto camera, water resistance, and wireless charging.
All eyes are on the Galaxy S21 FE continuing this affordable flagship trend for Samsung, and a new rumor points to the fact that the phone is even cheaper than its predecessor. A cheap price tag is usually accompanied by a compromise or two, which makes us think you’ll get what you’d leave for the cheaper S21 FE.
What feature would you give up for the cheap Galaxy S21 FE?
We posted polling on Monday, June 7, in which over 2,300 votes were counted. And the results show that almost 40% of the respondents are willing to give up wireless charging in exchange for the cheaper Galaxy S21 FE. It was the top pick in the poll, but we expect Samsung to offer faster wired charging if it ever gives up on wireless charging.
In-box chargers and accessories were the second most popular feature to be omitted, with 14.4% of polled readers saying they’d give up on these goodies if it meant an affordable price. It was closely followed by 5G (14.1%), which is understandable when the S20 FE had a 4G variant whereas sub-6GHz 5G LTE isn’t a game-changing improvement.
Cheaper/less versatile cameras (12%), water resistance (10%), the latest and greatest flagship SoCs (8%), and “others” (2%) round out the results.
- wongwat: I’d happily skip all of Samsung’s expected value-added firmware tweaks and use Android One. Because I hate Samsung bloat.
- Hussein AlmubarakiWhy stop at Just Stop on One Feature? I’m willing to give up 5G – as it’s not available in most areas here in NZ, water resistance because I’m not going to submerge my phone in water, ceramic or glass back because the day I get my phone it will be gone And no one will know the difference if it has a plastic or ceramic body, wireless charging because at the end of the day I still have to put the phone on the charger then why not plug it in? I don’t mind if I don’t get the latest SoC because I’m not going to use the phone to play games that require a discrete video card (just some Candy Crush).
- tarfin: For me I will leave the high end camera. The one in my A71 5G does very well and a DSLR makes more sense if I need more professional options.
