PS5 and Xbox Series X restock rumors heat up this weekend – don’t get your hopes up

Rumors that Walmart, Best Buy, and other retailers will have PS5 and Xbox Series X restocks later this week have taken over Twitter, according to us. Re-stock PS5 Twitter Tracker Matt Sweder. But it’s questionable, says Matt, who has tracked down 37,900 consoles for the public through his Restock Alerts and will send you a live update when the PS5 is in stock in stores in the US. – If you follow his Twitter account and turn on notifications. Our sources at the major US retailer don’t have good news for those awaiting a rare weekend break.

Don’t believe everything you hear. We’re here to debunk the rumours, while also telling you about the upcoming PS5 and Xbox Series X restock dates.

Nor should they – weekend restock news in 2021 is very rare. While Matt tracks more than a dozen stores in the US, only Amazon had a PS5 restock over the weekend in recent memory (it was just after 3am EDT). Instead, you have a better chance of finding the Xbox Series X and PS5 in stock during ‘console drops’ on weekdays, and we believe many retailers will have one during the new week, based on our wisdom. Will restock.

PS5 and Xbox restock news for June 5

Everyone is clearly looking forward to seeing the PS5 and Xbox Series X in stock, and given the fact that June 20 is Father’s Day in the US, there’s an added emphasis on getting a new console. Of course, hype doesn’t always generate real restock news.

PS5 restock has sparked excitement in Twitter replies from Twitter tracker Matt Swider, who has heard from several followers claiming that Walmart and Best Buy will have a big restock this weekend. But the facts do not support it. There are also people claiming Sony Direct PS5 restock and virtual queues for Sunday, June 6. Yet Sony has never reinstated its console over the weekend in 2021.

These rumors are not unexpected. This past week was a short week, and we saw a year and a half PS5 restock event — and just one Xbox Series X restock. Best Buy had both consoles, while Walmart threw away maybe a dozen PS5 consoles overnight at 3:10 a.m. Thursday. Very few people were satisfied with Restock either. Technically we saw the Newegg Shuffle on Friday, but that was a lottery for a bundle.

Here’s what we’re expecting in the new week.

walmart restock date

  • Expected Walmart Date: Thursday, June 10 at 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. EDT
  • Last Walmart Restock Date & Time: Monday, May 20 at 3:26 pm EDT
  • How to get it: Follow Our Restock Twitter Account

The Walmart PS5 restock date could be June 10th at 2:30pm EDT or 3pm EDT, and by that time, the largest US retailer won’t have consoles for three weeks. Well, in a major way this past week, at least, it had no recharge. Walmart restocked a stealthy PS5 digital console on Thursday at 3:10 a.m. (don’t worry if you missed it—barely found any).

Walmart usually relaunches PS5 and Xbox Series X on Thursday in 2021, though it doesn’t have PS5 and Xbox Everyone Thursday. The good news is that Matt Swider often gets an advance notice about Walmart PS5 and Xbox restock news, often with a date and time if it’s a huge console drop.

best buy restock date

The last Best Buy PS5 and Xbox Series X restock was Thursday, June 3, as previously accurately reported by Nerdshala. The electronics retailer also sold the RTX 3080 Ti GPU stock individually at stores on the same date, but this Best Buy PS5 and Xbox restock was online only today and happened in two short waves starting at 9:37 a.m. EDT. According to our reporting, several followers of our Twitter tracker have found this.

That’s when it’s hard to reinstate Best Buy news simply because it goes from consistently launching orders at noon on Friday (for seven consecutive weeks), to opening orders on Thursday afternoons (for two consecutive weeks). Stocking up again on Monday morning (we think it was for the latter half of last week, but Best Buy didn’t have shipments yet). Now we are back on Thursday (twice in a row).

gamestop restock date

The GameStop PS5 and Xbox Series X restock happened three consecutive Wednesdays until this week. It’s been a short week and the video game retailer is potentially holding onto inventory (we were surprised it went 3-for-3 on Wednesday without fail). We know it’s almost always at 2 p.m. EDT (not in online-only stores). The good news is that, like Walmart, GameStop usually sends us the news in advance.

GameStop has bundles, and until recently, US retailer MLB has stuck to packing in shows for the PS5 and Xbox, and returns for the PS5. While many Matt Swider followers complain of being forced to buy games, accessories (like an extra controller) and a gift card, bringing the PS5 price to an average of $729, this strategy deters resellers who want to buy more games, accessories, and more. Scoop up a PS5 or Xbox console at stores and resell it for much higher prices.

target recharge date

Target recently changed things up. Local Target stores can restock the Xbox Series X at any time and make it available for purchase online. The PS5 restocks at Target, however, happen on specific drop dates. We usually have a good idea of when and in 2021, it’s always a Wednesday or Thursday at 7:40 a.m. EDT.

Next Wednesday and Thursday on the calendar are June 9 and June 10, and since the previous target PS5 restock was on Thursday, May 27 at around 7:40 AM EDT, we’ll keep an eye out and send you an alert if this happens in the new week.

Sony Direct PS5 Restock Date

  • Rumored Sony Direct PS5 restore date: Random weekdays at 5 p.m. EDT
  • Last Sony Direct PS5 Restock Date & Time: Thursday, May 20 at 5 p.m. EDT
  • How to get it: Follow Our PS5 Restock Twitter Account

The Sony Direct PS5 restock was two weeks ago today, and we know it was going to last for some time as our Twitter replies indicated that several lucky PS5 buyers received a ‘delayed shipment’ notice. This usually means that Sony Direct will halt sales of the PS5 for the foreseeable future. And here we are after two weeks without another PS5 drop from Sony Direct.

It’s time for the PlayStation brand to resell the PS5 console to Sony’s official store, judging by past instances in which shipment delays put the retailer on hiatus. The good news about Sony Direct PS5 restocks is that they’re usually better than other stores, thanks to a virtual queue that gets to buy a PS5 at random.

There’s no sign of Sony Direct PS5 re-stocking this week (hence why it’s at the bottom of the list), but check out this alert when the time comes:

amazon restock date

The next Amazon restock is the most controversial of them all, as it had nearly two restocks over several days last week. We saw thousands of people receive PS5 discs from our restock alert on Wednesday, May 26, yet no one was able to receive it the next day when there was a second PS5 restock (the add-to-cart button was turned on) ) about 30 minutes).

This means one of two things: Amazon has PS5 and Xbox Series X inventory and will probably have another restock shortly after Memorial Day, or it was a widespread glitch and out of add-to-cart buttons. Meant to never go live (as they didn’t really have consoles to begin with). We are tracking Amazon only in case of the former. But we also know that Amazon has waited between 15 and 54 days between restox, so there’s no telling when the PS5 will be back in stock on Amazon.
