The past week has been an eventful one, with tons of new game announcements, leaks, and a slew of new game releases to offer. While Cameron has covid this time around, he and Anthony still have a lot to discuss on this episode of Game Rent Arcade, which features one of the biggest new games of the year, and much more.
Closing things down, Ubisoft announces Ghost Recon: Frontline, a brand new battle royale game involving over 100 players. While Ubisoft is promising a twist in the battle royale genre, it will be a free-to-play game with concurrent multiplayer elements. Unfortunately, the game hasn’t been well received so far, with fans on Reddit criticizing the announcement and flooding the trailer with dislikes.
Next, a massive Twitch leak has revealed the entirety of the platform’s codebase as well as its commit history, meaning all of Twitch is now out in the wild. Included in the leak was a list of how many streamers have been created from the platform with major streamers like HasanAbi, XQC, and more being showcased. However, some streamers have denied that the number is accurate, i.e. AsmGold.
In other news, PlayStation has officially bought Bluepoint Games, the studio behind games like demon spirits And shadow of the Colossus remake. While it’s unclear what the studio is working on, in addition to an “original” project, the developer is also rumored to be making one. bloodborne remake, or possibly a sequel.
And finally, there’s some news on the Konami front. The developer is rumored to have brought back Castlevania, Metal Gear Solid, And Silent Hill, to each different degree. This is not the first time that such rumors have surfaced, but it is something that a lot of fans would like to see. While there’s no concrete timeline for when the games will appear, VGAs are just around the corner.
