How to see who viewed your TikTok profile

What do LinkedIn and TikTok have in common? In some cases, you can now see who has viewed your profile in the last thirty days (also LinkedIn work on TikTok-style video stream, but… we don’t need to get into that right now.)

The feature is available to many users, but TikTok has yet to confirm to TechCrunch whether TikTok profile views are being tested or rolled out more widely. However, the TikTok support page already has information about how to enable or disable profile view. The support page also added that this feature is only available to users over 16 who have less than 5,000 followers. Maybe it’s because if you’re too popular on TikTok, seeing a long list of all the people viewing your profile can be… a lot. Or it could be for those users’ own protection (imagine Charlie D’Amelio somehow ended up on your profile?).

If you have this feature, you will see an eye icon in the top right corner when you look at your profile. If you click on it, you will see who has viewed your profile in the last thirty days. Only you can see who has viewed your profile, but if you enable this feature, you also consent to other people seeing that you have viewed their profile.

Luckily, you have to manually subscribe to view a TikTok profile – this doesn’t happen automatically, so don’t worry if you viewed your ex’s profile yesterday. They won’t know if you haven’t already enabled the feature. You can also enable or disable this feature at any time.

Once you’re on the page where you can see who’s viewed your profile, you can disable profile viewing by clicking the settings wheel in the top right corner. Then a switch will appear to enable or disable this feature. You can also access these settings by going to the three-line menu icon in Settings and then going to Settings & Privacy > Privacy > Profile Views > Profile Browsing History.

TikTok profile views were spotted in the application code by reverse engineers as early as January.
