Elon Musk has agreed to buy Twitterand of course Hollywood has thoughts.
The social media giant confirmed on Monday that the Tesla CEO and the billionaire will acquire the company in a $44 billion deal. Once the deal is completed, which is expected by this year, Twitter will go private.
“Free speech is the foundation of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where issues vital to the future of humanity are discussed.” Musk tweeted to his 84 million followers.. “I also want to make Twitter better than ever by adding new features to the product, making algorithms open to increase trust, defeating spambots, and authenticating all people.”

Actress Jamila Jamilknown for her outspokenness about mental health issues, body image and online harassment, wrote on Monday that she posted her “last tweet” after learning that Musk had acquired the social networking site.
“Ah, he has a twitter. I wish this was my last tweet,” the Good Place actress wrote. “I fear this bid for free speech will help this hellish platform reach its ultimate form of completely lawless hatred, bigotry and misogyny. Good luck”.
She wasn’t the only one worried about the controversial billionaire taking over the social media platform.
director Rob Reiner shared concerns that former President Donald Trump could return to the app under new leadership after he was permanently banned from twitter in the days following the 6 January uprising “due to the risk of further incitement to violence”. On Monday, Trump said he would not return to Twitter.even with a new leader.
“Now that Elon Musk is buying Twitter, the question for all of us is this: will he allow the criminal who used this platform to lie and spread misinformation to try and overthrow the US government to come back and continue his criminal activities? And if he does? how to deal with it?” Reiner wrote.

Led-T there was another suggestion: “It would be cool if Musk bought Twitter and just shut it down…lol.”
Later he added: “If turning off social media WILL ruin your life… You really need to recalibrate your priorities.. Just saying.”

Musical director Scooter Brown welcomed the billionaire in his new role: “Hi Elon @elonmusk,” he tweeted, waving an emoji.
And some were hoping that Musk’s new role could bring some updates to the app.
“Finally free! @elonmusk remove my shadowban bro” Ice Cube pleaded.
“Will we get the ability to edit a tweet now?” Kevin Jonas joked.
“Ignore the drama, pay attention to this instead,” suggested Ellie Goulding, quoting a Twitter post about climate change.
“Is there really nothing to do with 44 billion dollars?” Marvel Star Sim Liu asked a question.
“Hurrah. Now what?” Quest love posted Monday afternoon, anticipating a potential post-internet lifestyle. “Hmmm maybe that means it means ‘Amir is really enjoying life’ like in the days before 2004 Friendster… or even scarier before the 98 days of Okayplayer.”
