Marvel Studios has reportedly started the lengthy casting process for its upcoming Fantastic Four film.

Two and a half years after its initial announcement, the Marvel Phase 4 movie has taken a big step forward, with two major leakers alleging that Marvel has begun casting for the iconic superhero group.

Curiously, MyTimeToShineHello’s claim was backed by another leaker – Hendrio Pratama – who posted one. unverified breakdown Some of the upcoming Marvel movies, including the Fantastic Four reboot. According to Pratama, two well-known actors are already on board to star in the superhero flick, while Marvel is looking for two relative newcomers to join the roster.

It’s unclear who provided this rumored information to Pratama, so we’d suggest taking it with a big pinch of salt for now. But, given MyTimeToShineHello’s track record for breaking news on past Marvel productions, we think there’s been Some Movement on the front of the Fantastic Four casting.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed that a Fantastic Four film was in development in July 2019. Since then, the only other major update to the project concerns Jon Watts, with Marvel confirming that Spider-Man: No Way Home director will make the Fantastic Four’s directorial debut. MCU Adventure.

In other MCU-related news, Eternals — the 26th Marvel film — finally launches on Disney Plus on January 12. The next MCU flick to hit theaters will be Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, whose six-week-long reshoot was recently completed. ,

Analysis: Who Will Portray the Fantastic Four in the MCU?

Before Marvel confirmed that a Fantastic Four movie was in development, fans called husband and wife John Krzynski (The Office, A Quiet Place) and Emily Blunt (Jungle Cruise, Mary Poppins) as Reed Richards and Sue Storm, aka Wanted to see Mr. Fabulous and invisible woman.

Though the two distanced themselves from those calls, it looks like fans will have to see who Marvel eventually chooses to take on those roles. And that’s before we meet Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm, also known as Human Torch and The Thing.

Interestingly, another tweet from MyTimeToShineHello reveals that Marvel Studios has been in contact with Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road, The Old Guard) and Justin Timberlake (The Social Network, Trolls) regarding roles in the MCU. .

Could Timberlake and Theron be the “famous actors” Pramata’s tweet alludes to? It’s a bit of a coincidence that these two claims were posted online, almost at the same time no less, and No be related to each other.

In our view, this is a distinct possibility. Timberlake could be cast as Johnny Storm, while Theron would make an excellent Sue Storm. However, much depends on whether Marvel wants to make the MCU incarnation of their Fantastic Four an already established hero, or if they want to create the superhero group’s third origin story in the past two decades.

Hopefully, it won’t take long for Marvel Studios to make a formal announcement on the casting front for the Fantastic Four movie. Who knows? They might even be casting for Doctor Doom, Silver Surfer, or even Galactus at this point. If the studio claims Pramata is already hiring two actors for specific roles in the film, then we are keeping our fingers crossed that we will soon get an official confirmation on the iconic quartet.
