Adam Warlock will be featured as a “major character” in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, developer Eidos-Montreal has confirmed.
In a brief teaser shared on the game’s official Twitter account, you can see Adam Warlock – originally known as him or simply Adam – wandering around an alien environment (presumably) aeon?) and saying to an offscreen character, “So, the cowboy got the fresh herd.” Since it has been confirmed in an earlier trailer that the Universal Church of Truth is one of the main antagonists in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, it is most likely the Grand Unifier Reaker that Adam is referring to here.

In one response, Eidos-Montreal clarified that Adam Warlock would be a “major character” in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, as opposed to a minor side character. That said, it’s worth clarifying once again that Star-Lord will be the only playable character in the game, so don’t expect this anti-hero to take control. “Friend, foe or fanatic?” The studio teases.
The news comes a day after Will Poulter (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Trader, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, Midsummer) appeared. The appearance was teased in the Guardian 2 post-credits scene. Director James Gunn confirms casting report Twitter, writing: “As you guys know I often hit upon false rumours, so… um… welcome to the Guardian family, Will Poulter. He’s an amazing actor and amazing person. In a couple of weeks See you.”
