This March, the new Wizard Supreme of the Marvel Universe (which Marvel Comics Has promised to name in December) will get its title — and oddly, it’s a title we already know, eg.
The new title is simply called Strange, judging by the recently released teaser art by Björn Berends announcing the series. However, the file name of the teaser art is listed as ‘DoctorStrange Teaser’, which may be a minor but ultimately accidental anomaly, or which may give some hints about who the new Wizard Supreme might be.
Remember, “weird” isn’t part of a title that’s passed on like Sorcerer Supreme—it’s Stephen Strange’s actual nickname.
“A new Wizard Supreme will rise,” reads the simple text of the teaser. Marvel has already vowed to name the new Wizard Supreme in December Doctor Strange’s Death #4, although the publisher hasn’t provided many clues about the identity of Earth’s new magical protector.
Newsrama has some speculations – including another version by Stephen Strange himself, as possibly indicated by the name of the new title.
The Death of Doctor Strange limited series, which focuses on the murder of Stephen Strange and the search for his killer, introduces a kind of Doctor Strange ‘variant’, a version of Strange known from long ago in his heroic timeline. was removed and they were called. Present to help you find your own killer.
Is there any chance the little Strange might be sticking around? Or that the original could be reborn? Or maybe even stranger (pun intended), could the new wizard be a version of Stephen Strange from another part of the Supreme Multiverse?
Stay tuned for Marvel’s full February 2021 requests coming to Newsrama later this month, and look for updates on Strange before early March.
