Carlos RodriguezThe CEO of payroll services giant ADP has been named to Microsoft’s board of directors.
If his selection is approved by the company’s shareholders at the company’s annual meeting on November 12, Microsoft’s board will expand to 12 members.
After joining the company in 1999, Rodriguez has been ADP’s CEO since 2011. “He brings unparalleled industry and technology expertise as well as a deep understanding of changing work norms,” said Microsoft CEO and President Satya Nadella. A news release announcing the nominations.

Microsoft’s board increased Nadella’s total compensation for 2021 to $49.9 million, up from $44.3 million in the prior year.
Nadella’s 2021 compensation includes stock awards of $33 million (up from $30.7 million); non-equity incentive compensation of $14.2 million; (up from $11 million); and a base salary of $2.5 million, the same as last year.
