The Movano Ring, a wearable ring similar to the Ora Ring, is designed with a female-centric focus for people of all ages. Health tech for women has been largely ignored by the medical tech industry, and Movano seeks to change that. Movano Ring gives people actionable insights on their daily fitness and chronic diseases with a deep focus on tracking them.

The Movano Health Ring is similar to the Oura Ring, which was launched in 2015.

The Movano Ring measures the user’s heart rate, temperature, SpO2, calories consumed and steps taken, among other parameters typically tracked by smart wear. Movano’s app is the killer feature, however, as it can give users actionable insights into their health so they can make short-term, as well as long-term, changes. For example, it may share insight into how a person sleeps, so that they can achieve better sleep hygiene. If you’re working out too much, the app will add up to show a correlation with your heart health, and so on. From the screenshots shared on Movano’s site, it’s nothing too significant, but it’s presented to be more immediately actionable than non-referenced data shared by other fitness-focused devices.

Movano describes himself as “non-aggressive radio frequency technology platform. It is currently conducting trials on non-invasive glucose level and cuffless blood pressure testing using this technology. it completed its Third trial on 110 participants In the last quarter of 2021, with another test scheduled for the first quarter of 2022.

At the moment, Movano is currently following Class II Designation To add important medical data to its products, according to CEO John Mastrototaro. However, he revealed that the opening ring probably won’t have Food and Drug Administration approval at launch.
