Neil Druckmann seemingly confirmed as one of The Last of Us HBO series’ directors

Looks like Neil Druckmann may be directing at least one episode The Last of Us TV Show, on top of his co-writing credits.

Possible new description a. comes from Production list posted on Directors Guild of Canada website, which cites Druckmann as one of five directors for the live-action adaptation. Naughty Dog senior QA staffer Gabby Lanillo shared the news on her personal Twitter account, which adds an extra dash of credibility to the idea that Druckmann’s duties on the show will go beyond writing with Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin.

This will be Druckmann’s first turn as director of a live-action series, though Naughty Dog’s games are so cinematic it will hardly be a lasting debut.


Speaking of Mazin, he is also listed on the DCG document as one of the directors of the series, along with Jasmila banik, Kantemir Balgov and Peter Hor. The show doesn’t currently have an official premiere date, but Balagov hints at 2022 As a potential release window on your Instagram. its first season ready to run for 10 episodes, telling an “advanced” version of the first game’s story—and potentially a sequel to it, depending on how timing and future seasons work.
