One downside of MMO games is that they require frequent maintenance which makes them briefly unplayable, and New World There is no exception. However, many European New World Players have noticed an unfortunate pattern related to the timing of planned maintenance – that is, it tends to occur in the middle of the day rather than late at night, when players are unlikely to be affected.
Redditor Physics_Total raised the issue, reporting that Amazon has repeatedly planned maintenance on EU servers for 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, despite similar maintenance on North American servers at 3:00 a.m. being implemented. Apparently, something similar happened during the beta, and although Amazon promised that the issue would be fixed after launch, it seems the company hasn’t followed through. This isn’t the first time Amazon has broken a promise New World players, but it can have a significant impact on the European player base.
In the original post, Physics_Total questioned why Amazon Game Studios – which is based out of North America – would apparently decide to work on the planned maintenance of EU servers in the middle of the night. The time zones involved would suggest that Amazon isn’t following the guidance of most other large MMOs, which schedule maintenance at the end of the workday or at different times in each zone. NS New World The launch was not global, so physics_total expressed confusion about why there was planned maintenance.
This isn’t the first time an MMO game has been specifically biased towards North American servers. For years, the controversial Riot Games was accused of favoring North American League of Legends server at rest. While New World hasn’t gone as far with its sidelines as Riot Games did in the past, Australian players noted under the post that they were also having trouble with planned maintenance. According to many users, Australian servers are sometimes vulnerable to maintenance from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm, which can be very inconvenient all the time.
At the time of writing, it appears that many other fans of New World Frustrated with perceived favoritism and how it affects planned maintenance. A user posted in old memories in such a way that Guild Wars 2 deliberately avoided server downtime, while others complained that New WorldPlanned maintenance can take the game down for more than seven hours at a time. A third user noted that EU servers have the lowest priority and are often the last region to come back online after planned maintenance.
