Nickelodeon made waves earlier this year when it announced that Ludosity would develop Nickelodeon All-Star controversy, a Super Smash Bros-like fighter starring Nickelodeon characters. The game’s early trailers showed off a number of fan-favorite characters that will appear within the game, from RPGs to Danny Phantom and more. Now, Ludosity has unveiled the character (or characters) coming to Crossover Fighter.
Ludosity and Fair Play Games have been slowly unveiling a roster of characters coming into the Nickelodeon All-Star brawl since the game’s announcement in July of this year. During Gamescom 2021 in August, the cartoon crossover revealed teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles‘ April O’Neill and Catdog will join the fight. Today, Ludosity revealed the latest fighter to enter an expanded roster of iconic characters, with the latest members working as a team.
Ludosity announced earlier today that the iconic duo of Ren and Stimpy, two of Nickelodeon’s original “Nicktoons,” will be bringing their raucous ruckus to the much-anticipated fighting game. Ren and Stimpy will work as a pair nickelodeon all-star controversy, Allows characters to attack in multiple directions, often using each other as weapons. Ludosity project manager Joel Nystrom and Fair Play Games game designer Mattias Singer joined together to give a glimpse into the characters’ mechanics in a post on the PlayStation Blog.
Ren and Stimpy offer many references to their show through their many unique attacks. His neutral special, aptly titled “Log from Blamo!”, features a bouncing log featured in a commercial within the show. The game also makes reference to the iconic “Happy Happy Joy Joy” song through Ren and Stimpy’s Up Air attack. The post also details how the characters’ duet aspects will work in their multiple attacks, with Ren dealing less damage initially and Stimpy dealing stronger damage with a slight delay. Nystrom and Singer also show several pieces of concept art for how the attacks were designed.
Nickelodeon All-Star controversy has been a popular topic among fans of both Nickelodeon and Super Smash Bros. And, as such, the inclusion of the characters has given rise to many different fan requests. classic characters like my life as a teenage robotJenny Wakeman, or XJ9, and The Fairly OddParentsTimmy Turner has been one of the most requested from passionate fans. Nickelodeon’s best-known voice actors as well as voice actor Mark DeCarlo don’t miss the excitement to join the game in his fan-favorite role as Hugh Neutron. The excitement among fans for the upcoming Nickelodeon crossover is palpable and will only increase if the game releases later this year.
