The Nintendo Switch may be a few years old, but Nintendo on Tuesday night finally delivered an update to the platform that users have long wanted: Bluetooth audio support.
In a tweet on Tuesday night, the company confirmed that it has enabled the feature as part of a new Switch update. “Latest #Nintendo Switch Update is now available,” the company tweeted, “including the ability to pair Bluetooth devices for audio output.”
in one accompanying supporting documents, the company notes some limitations of this feature. You’ll only be able to connect two wireless controllers to the Switch when Bluetooth audio is in use. For headphones or speakers, while the Switch can hold up to 10 Bluetooth devices, it will only be able to connect to one audio device at a time.
The bluetooth microphones on the console will also not be usable.
