One of the big themes of 2021 for No Man’s Sky has been the campaign, with highlights including a Mass Effect crossover in which Normandy made an appearance. However, these events run for a limited time, and a Hello Games press release acknowledged that “this very busy year, and the limited-time nature of the campaigns, means it may be difficult for some to participate in them.” Has gone. .”

So they’re all coming back to the festive period, and yes that includes Mass Effect: “We’ve managed to bring Normandy back as a reward for what a lot of people I know have done.” asked for it.”

Expeditions will return on 24 November and begin in the order they were left in. The program is:

  • Expedition 1 (Pioneer): November 24 – December 7
  • Expedition 2 (Beachhead/Normandy): December 8 – December 21
  • Expedition 3 (Cartographer): December 22 – January 4
  • Campaign 4 (Udbhav): January 5 – January 9

“This marks the end of 2021 which has been another busy year for our small team, as we celebrate the 5th anniversary of No Man’s Sky with 4 major updates” reads the release. “This now brings us to 17 major releases as well as countless smaller updates, community requests and hotfixes: an enormous amount of work for such a small team. We are very proud, and humbled, to have this adventure with you. We are able to continue to take No Man’s Sky to new and exciting places.”

I haven’t played all of these, but have dipped back into No Man’s Sky for the most recent campaign, Emergence, and all I can say is that it satisfied my desire to see a lot of giant sandworms.

For No Man’s Sky, it’s been a hell of a year once again. After one of the toughest launches in history Hello Games has something players love and can be really proud of (it finally reached ‘positive’ Steam review status this year!) and, of course, next. There will be more to come: “Work has already begun on some exciting plans for 2022 and we are showing no signs of slowing down.”
