Big picture: The OnePlus 10T 5G comes with a lower resolution display and a worse camera system than the company’s flagship phone 10 Pro, but it makes up for it with an upgraded SoC, faster charging and a lower price. Some may also prefer the 10T flat screen to the curved Pro screen.

The phone features a 6.7-inch 1080 x 2412 AMOLED display with a dynamic refresh rate that switches between 60Hz, 90Hz and 120Hz depending on the content. The screen also features a 360Hz touch response rate, 10-bit color depth, and HDR10+ support.

OnePlus 10T is Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8+ 1st generation (the 10 Pro uses the no-plus version) paired with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The company has developed a new 10T cooling solution with the largest vapor chamber of any of its phones.

The camera department has taken the most cost-cutting measures, with OnePlus even ditching Hasselblad’s proprietary and software features. The phone has a 50MP IMX766 main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front is a 16-megapixel fixed-focus camera housed in a hole-punch cutout.

Other notable shortcomings compared to the Pro version are the lack of an alert slider, lack of Wi-Fi 6E support, and a relatively low IP54 rating.

The OnePlus 10T has a decent 4,800mAh battery with support for 150W fast charging, with a full charge supposedly taking just 19 minutes. However, in countries with 100-127V sockets, the charging speed is limited to 125W, which makes the phone charge from one to 100 percent slower by a full minute. The company claims that the battery will retain about 80 percent of its capacity after 1,600 charge cycles.

The phone will come preloaded with OxygenOS 12.1 operating system based on Android 12 and is said to receive three major Android updates and four years of security updates.

OnePlus 10T 5G will be available in Moonstone Black and Jade Green, with US pre-orders starting September 1st and shipping beginning September 29th.
