Outriders gets new missions and transmog system in major free update

Remember Outriders? I thought People Can Fly’s third-person halo-alike sounded promising when I ran the demo, but the entire release went out of the gate with some serious technical problems. The gameplay proved divisive, with players unusually divided on its story, endgame, and other key aspects. The player count on Steam plummeted, and by the start of the summer, it had largely fallen off our radar.

However the game is not over yet. Publisher Square Enix announced today that the free New Horizons update for Outriders will go live tomorrow with a slew of changes and new content. four new campaigns has been added, and Campaign deadline has been removed, which means players will earn completion rewards, no matter how long it takes to complete the task. New one Transmog System This is done so that players can customize their looks without giving up on desired features, and The in-game store has been revamped To offer a couple of additional new options: to re-roll legendary-level gear available for purchase, and to purchase a mystery piece of legendary-gear kit.

Square Enix also announced that a full expansion called Outriders WorldSlayer is in the works. No details on that, but you can catch a (very) brief tease of what’s in store in the second half of the video above.

The Outriders New Horizons update is set to go live tomorrow, November 16. Playing the game (including the free demo version) between then and November 30th will also give you a free Legendary-tier armor item, which will come to either your stash. Or on your most experienced character, within a day or two of your login.
