A “large amount” of post-launch content of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction will be “completely free” and will include limited-time events.
According to Ubisoft, upcoming challenges for the shooter include limited-time “game-changing” Crisis events that introduce either a new operator to your roster or a new Proteus enemy. The first event – Call Spillover – tasked players with annihilating massive colonies of the evolved version of Spoiler. Successful players will receive “exclusive” React Tech, new cosmetics, and new lore as a reward.
There are weekly assignments, too, modes that offer various modifiers to “put players’ skills to the test” such as Veterans Mode, which drains your HUD, limits ammo, and more to spice things up. Enables friendly fire.
Ubisoft says Maelstrom Protocol — a challenging endgame mode for skilled players — “will be available at launch” and offers “an exciting weekly challenge mode with tire ranks” for “the most skilled Rainbow Six players.”
“Players must navigate a series of nine subzones with increasing difficulty, tougher enemies, rapidly dwindling resources, and less time allotted to each stage,” the developer explained. “At each checkpoint, squads must attempt to either take their points to the bank or push them to the end. Earning points will secure a place for challengers in five categories, from bronze to silver to gold, platinum and even Up to the Diamond Class, each rewards player with special headgear and React credits.”
While Assignment and Maelstrom Protocol are expected to be available from launch, Crisis Events won’t go live until “soon.”
Each standard version of ICYMI, Extraction Will come with two Buddy Pass tokens, allowing them to invite their friends to play with them for two weeks at no extra cost. Any progress your friend makes will transfer over to purchase the full game. Pre-orders are now live.
