What are they saying: “I don’t support Filibuster. I don’t think I ever have,” Tlaib told Nerdshala’ Jonathan Swann.

  • When pressured by Democrats about using filibusters during the Trump administration, Tlaib acknowledged that it “would have been unfortunate” if they didn’t have filibuster.
  • “Maybe this would have given rise to the movement that needed to be outside Congress to demand accountability, right?” she added.
  • “But I don’t want something to be used over and over again to stop protecting my black neighbors. And that’s when it’s most triggered.”

Bottom-line: Tlaib said that “of course” she would still support getting rid of Filbuster if Republicans withdraw the House and Senate in 2024.
