We’ve heard several times that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will have more or less the same camera specs as the Galaxy S21 Ultra, and now we’re hearing it again – but this time with additional details.

According to @universityice (A leaker with a solid track record), the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will feature an upgraded version of the 108MP main sensor we saw on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, and the exact same 12MP ultra-wide sensor.

Where things may change a bit (beyond anonymous improvements to the main sensor) is with the zoom lens, as these will obviously both use the new sensor – but they’re not much different from the old one.

Apparently the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a 10MP 1/3.52″ Sony sensor with f/4.9 aperture, offering 10x optical zoom, as well as another sensor that feels similar, except for f/2.4 aperture and 3x optical zoom. Zoom offers.

The megapixel count and aperture here are similar to those of the Galaxy S21 Ultra, but pixel and sensor size are slightly different, with the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s zoom lens having a 1/3.24″ sensor and 1.22μm pixels.

So there will probably be some improvements from these changes, but don’t think there will be a huge difference if this leak is true. However, we may see much bigger upgrades on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, as the same source claims that Samsung will Equip a phone with a 200MP sensor in 2023,

Analysis: Motorola and Xiaomi could be camera kings in 2022

Samsung isn’t the only big-name brand that might be sticking a similar snapper on its 2022 flagships, as the OnePlus 10 Pro is also rumored to have the same cameras as the OnePlus 9 Pro, so 2022 might not be the year of big camera improvements.

That said, @UniverseIce claims that Motorola will launch a phone with a 200MP camera in the first half of the year, followed by Xiaomi in the second half, so while megapixels aren’t everything, these could be the brand to see in 2022.

Apple may also bring some upgrades to the iPhone 14 range – though nothing quite like a 200MP snapper. Instead, sources suggest that the main sensor on the Pro model could bump up to 48MP from 12MP.

2023 could be a huge year for smartphone cameras, though if Samsung actually moves up to 200MP, as it is also rumored that Apple may eventually equip an iPhone with a periscope snapper, allowing for long-range optical zoom. Meets.
