Metroid Dreads arrives on Nintendo Switch on October 8th, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is celebrating its launch with a new event. Starting this weekend, players will be able to earn three new Metroid Dread Spirits in the fighting game: Samus (the Metroid Dread version), EMMI, and Chojo Soldier.
All three spirits will appear on the spirit board from time to time throughout the event, making this your first chance to get them. Additionally, you’ll earn extra Spirit Points each time you defeat Featured Spirits.
The Metroid Dread Spirit Board event runs until 11 p.m. PT on October 12th. If you miss out on spirits during the event, they will be re-available from time to time in the spirit board and item shop of the game.
Metroid Dread is the first brand-new side-scrolling installment in the Metroid series since 2002’s Metroid Fusion for the Game Boy Advance. Alessandro Filari wrote, “While Metroid Dread certainly won’t be the last we see of Samus Aran, it’s an effective caper for a particular era of the Metroid series. Metroid Dread is a great game that feels like coming home.” ” cnet.
