What to look forward to: We’ve known for a long time that more PlayStation-only games will soon lose their console exclusivity and move to PC. Now, Sony has revealed what’s coming next, with Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered coming to the platform on August 12, while Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will land sometime in the fall.

The announcement was one of many announcements at yesterday’s Sony State of Play event in June 2022. Anyone who played Marvel’s Spider-Man when it arrived on the PlayStation 4 in 2018 knows that it was one of the main reasons to get Sony’s latest generation console. The combination of incredibly fluid, intuitive web traversal, Batman: Arkham series-style combat, and engaging story and characters has made this a must-have for PS4 owners.

A remastered version of Marvel’s Spider-Man was released in 2020 as a PlayStation 5 launch title with updated graphics including ray tracing and all DLCs. This version will be released on PC on August 12th.

This fall, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, also released for PS5, will join the remastered PC version.

Sony reveals more of its previously exclusive PlayStation games coming to PC for some time. Its net sales on the platform more than doubled in its most recent fiscal year ending March 31, 2022 to $80 million, a feat Sony credits with PC releases Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, and God of War.

Sony’s recent business segment shareholder briefing revealed that the company expects to earn $300 million from its PC business in the current fiscal year. The two Spider-Man games will no doubt contribute to this, as will the upcoming Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection, though much of it is expected to come from Bungie’s $3.6 billion acquisition.
