Viewing photos of your loved ones on Apple Watch is about to get so much better.

Your Apple Watch is getting a new watch face later this year. here’s what you need to know

it’s part of the story WWDC 2021. All the latest coverage from Apple’s annual developers conference.

According to AppleMILF On Most Popular Watch Face apple watch There’s also the most personal: Photo Face, which lets you select the favorite photos that your watch will spin every time you lift your wrist and wake the watch. One of the most notable new features Apple unveiled with watchOS 8 There’s a new Portraits watch face slated to arrive later this fall.

Every time you take a photo using Portrait Mode on your iphone camera, it captures a bunch of information that includes the depth of the photo. This way your phone is able to add a blurred background around the person in the photo. Portrait Face uses the same information to give your watch face a 3D-like look. You can also hold the watch in front of or behind the person, and when you turn the Digital Crown on your watch, the picture appears to come to life by zooming in and out.

watchOS 8 is currently available to developers, but there will be a Public Beta in July which will allow anyone with a compatible Apple Watch to test released software iOS 15 and iPad 15.

Here’s what we know about the new Portrait watch face so far.

Portrait Mode photos start with your iPhone

To set up a new Portrait mode watch face starts with a photo that you captured in Portrait mode using your iPhone camera. You can view all the Portrait Mode photos you’ve taken by opening the Photos app on your iPhone and selecting album tab.

scroll down until you see media type, then choose picture. Any pictures you have saved in that album can be used with the watch face. If you don’t have any portrait photos, it’s time to start taking some. Not only can you create a completely personalized watch face, but you’ll also take some great photos in the process.

Making your own portrait watch face should be easy

Almost all the watch face creation process on your iPhone is done in the Watch app. Well, technically you can create a watch face directly on the Apple Watch, but it can be tough to get it right on that small screen.

You can see that there are many different clock fonts and positions with which you can arrange the photo.

I expect Apple to add the Portrait watch face to the app with the release of iOS 15, and follow the same process that now uses the Photos watch face. Meaning, you will open the Watch app, go to the Face Gallery, select Portrait Face, then you can view, select and edit the portrait photo you want to use on your watch face.

Apple said during the announcement that you’ll be able to arrange that the picture overlaps with the watch, giving you even more customization options — and making sure the watch doesn’t chop off anyone’s head.

what we still don’t know

Since the watch face isn’t available yet, there are still a few things we don’t know about it. The biggest question I still have is how many pictures can I add to the face so that it can be cycled? Or is it only one photo per watch face?

We’ll definitely have more answers when the public beta is released in July.

The Apple Watch isn’t the only Apple device getting the new software. getting iphone iOS 15, while Apple’s tablet lineup is getting iPad 15. For its part, the Mac is getting MacOS Monterey. Each of which has tons of fun, new features you’ll want to check out.
