We’ve been hearing many rumors about the design of the iPhone 13, but Apple is also hard at work updating its lineup of iPad tablets, which will reportedly receive wireless charging.

As per a Bloomberg report, an iPad Pro refresh is expected next year with two major changes. The first is the switch from aluminum to glass back. The second is the introduction of wireless charging. The two are connected internally, with the glass back enabling wireless charging to work the same way it does on iPhones.

If you’re in the market for a new iPad this year, Apple is apparently also rolling out a new iPad mini with an entirely new design. The Mini hasn’t undergone a redesign for six years, and the current model certainly looks like a classic next to other iPad models. When PCMag reviewed the latest model in 2019, the “aging design” was highlighted as one of the few negatives.

Apple, as always, won’t confirm any details about the new iPad models and features until it’s ready to make an official announcement. However, over the years Apple device rumors have generally proved to be pretty accurate.
