Star Wars: Ahsoka — Everything we know so far

Rosario Dawson is reprising his role as former Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano

Ahsoka Tano is getting her own Disney Plus show. The new series, a spinoff of The Mandalorian, was announced at Disney’s Investor Day 2020 event, and will see Rosario Dawson reprising his role as the former Jedi Padawan.

The series will likely track his movements After the Mando and Baby have crossed paths with Yoda. And since she was able to tell this little sweet baby girl’s real name is Grogu, we’re wondering what other surprises she has… well, she doesn’t have sleeves. For bachelors, Ahsoka is a popular character who was introduced in the animated series The Clone Wars and Star Wars Wars: Rebels.

Ahsoka made her live-action debut in The Mandalorian Season 2, when Mando and Grogue went in search of her on the forest planet of Corvus. She was engaged in a standoff with the Imperial Magistrate Morgan Ellsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto), ruling the city of Calodon.

At the end of the episode, Ahsoka defeats Morgan Ellsbeth and obtains the information she wanted – the whereabouts of Grand Admiral Thrawn (another character from The Clone Wars).

Star Wars: Ahsoka release date

Disney didn’t announce a Star Wars: Ahsoka release date when they revealed the spinoff’s existence to investors — but we’ve got clues as to when it comes out. The leaked cast and story details include a note that filming is expected to begin this year, so likely 2022.

Also, The Book of Boba Fett is set to premiere on Christmas Day 2021, to be followed by The Mandalorian Season 3. So, our guess is that Star Wars: Ahsoka follows in its heels in March or April 2022.

Star Wars: Ahsoka Cast

Of course, the Star Wars: Ahsoka cast is led by Rosario Dawson, who brought the character into live-action.

No other cast members were announced.

It’s possible that characters from The Mandalorian may appear on the spinoff. We’d love to see Bo-Katan Krizz (Katie Sackhoff) reunite with Ahsoka. And while the former Jedi may have turned down the task of training Grogu, she is the only one who is able to communicate with him through the Force. Perhaps they will share the wordless philosophy again.
