Netflix GeekWeek Also Announces WitcherCon Is Coming
Don’t blink or you’ll miss the teaser trailer for The Witcher Season 2, which was released during the last day of Netflix’s Geeked Week. The brutally short video lasts just 12 seconds and focuses on Princess Siri (Freya Allen), Geeked Week tweeted “Not lost in the woods anymore.” The event also revealed that Netflix and video game developer CD Projekt Red are holding WitcherCon next month.
This is the first footage fans have seen of The Witcher Season 2, which wraps up filming in April and is scheduled to be released by the end of the year. The teaser gives a glimpse of Siri sitting in flames in the forest, riding a horse and holding a sword.

Other quick moments reveal robes embroidered with Elder speech notation, a dagger, a bloody carcass and a lion—a reference to Siri’s nickname as Sintra’s lion cub.
While not much is known about the plot of Season 2, fans expect Geralt to take Kyrie to Carr Moren to train and discover his abilities.
Along with Alan, Henry Cavill will return as Geralt of Rivia. Anya Chalotra is also returning as Wengerberg’s Yennefer, although the character’s fate was up in the air at the end of Season 1. Several new actors are joining The Witcher Season 2, including Kristofer Hivju (known as Tormund on Game of Thrones) as Nivellen.
The Witcher is one of Netflix’s most popular shows, so much so that Netflix has previously ordered a prequel series about the Witcher as well as an animated film called Blood Origins.
More details about The Witcher and the spinoff can be unveiled at WitcherCon, which was also announced during Geekade Week.
Netflix and game developer CD Projekt Red are teaming up to host a virtual event on July 9. The digital conference will stream on both the hosts’ YouTube and Twitch channels.
According to the WitcherCon website, fans will get exclusive first looks, news and making-off content about The Witcher games, live action series, anime film and merchandise. However, the new Witcher game will not be announced.
