We’re Tracking Xbox Series X Stock at All Major Retailers
Xbox Series X Restock is back, though for a while. The Microsoft Store had limited stock of both the Series X and Series S consoles earlier this week. However, both consoles sold out quickly, which indicates that the appetite for the new console from Microsoft hasn’t waned. To help you find Microsoft’s console, we’ve been tracking down the latest Xbox Series X restock rumors, tips, and drops. We’ve also compiled a list of US retailers so that you have a one-stop shop for finding out where to buy the Xbox Series X and Series S.

Xbox Series X – Latest News and Rumors
It’s been a slow couple of weeks in terms of Xbox Series X restocks, barring a very limited Best Buy stock last week (June 3). We are hoping that this lack of drops will soon change. Amazon, Walmart, and GameStop may reinstall Microsoft’s massive black box in the coming days, though nothing has been confirmed yet.
In the meantime, Target just announced a major change to how it handles Xbox Series X restocks. It will no longer wait to drop stock in batches as it does with the PS5 restock, instead the Xbox Series X console will be available for purchase when stores receive stock.
This essentially means that Target will no longer have a nationwide stock drop, and instead, the console will only be available when each individual location receives inventory. We saw this new system take effect on Tuesday (May 18) when several Target stores offered the Xbox Series X for sale.
Xbox Series X Restocks: Track on Twitter
If you want to get an edge on Xbox Series X restocks, check out these Twitter accounts for the latest updates. We especially recommend the following Xbox Series X|S Stock Alerts and wario64. The latter account tracks both Xbox restocks as well as general gaming sales.
While they won’t always alert you, it’s also a good rule to follow retailers on Twitter, such as best Buy and GameStop. Any edge you can get is important when trying to score an Xbox Series X restock.
There’s a good reason Microsoft’s new consoles are flying off the shelves. In our Xbox Series X review, we gave the new system major props for its great performance, zippy load times, and wide backwards compatibility with every generation of Xbox. And as we noted in our Xbox Series S review, the cheaper next-gen Xbox still offers the same great features for those with 1080p TVs.
With that in mind, check out the latest Xbox Series X stock updates and tips for getting your new Microsoft console below.

Xbox Series X Buying Tips and Resources Where to Buy?
In addition to refreshing retailer websites, there are other tricks you can use to increase your chances of scoring an Xbox Series X. A secret Amazon tip we tested allowed us to put the Xbox Series X in our shopping cart four times without fail. In addition, there are other online channels you can check to see when a unit might be available.
On Twitter, we recommend the following @vario64. The handle is known to update users on the latest deals and restores faster than anyone else on the platform.
Slickdeals, the online deals repository, is one of forum thread Dedicated to ordering Xbox Series X through Microsoft. The thread is constantly being updated, so go to the last page and click Refresh for the latest intel when units become available.
PopFinder is a site that checks local retail listings based on your zip code. For example, you can check a local Target store in your area to see if an Xbox Series X is available. Note, that just because it appears to be in stock, it may be out of stock by the time it arrives at your store.
Creating an account on Slickdeals and setting up deal alerts for “Xbox Series X” is also not a bad idea. You will receive an email alert when a new thread is created about replenished stock. But we’ve found that sometimes Slickdeals doesn’t email users fast enough. So it may be better to type “Xbox Series X” into the search bar and sort by new. Be prepared to check in several times a day.
CheapAssGamer is a long-standing video game deals website that also has a forum thread dedicated to the Xbox Series X. At the time of writing, the thread is over 63 pages long, and users are discussing where to find units.
facebook and reddit
Facebook can also be a good source of information. There are several Xbox Series X fan groups that keep users up to date on where the latest restocks are happening. Feel free to join some of these groups.
And be sure to subscribe to the Xbox Series X subreddit. Sure, most of the page is devoted to discussions and memes, but if a user notices a restock, they’ll let the community know. For example, one user found Xbox Series X units in stock at their local Walmart, while others discussed similar searches. Then again, it looks like some Walmart locations may be holding onto units to sell on Cyber Monday.
Another group of retailers are membership-based wholesalers such as Costco, Sam’s Club and BJ’s Wholesale Club. Since a paid account is required to gain access to these wholesalers, there are often fewer people jumping on top of each other to find a unit. If you don’t have a subscription to any of these retailers, ask some friends or family members.
Unfortunately, wholesalers tend to bundle new consoles with additional games or accessories. So you’ll likely pay more than the standard $500.
check on specific hours
Generally, retailers like to make stock available at certain times. The time when new Xbox Series X stock is most likely to become available is at midnight ET in a few days. Check out all the retailers and you might get lucky.
Other retailers favor a time like 7 a.m. ET, when customers wake up, while others will aim for noon to give everyone the best chance of finding a new Xbox Series X console.
- costco: xbox series x | xbox series (in and out of stock)
- Sam’s Club: xbox series x (out of stock)
- BJ’s Wholesale Club: xbox series x | xbox series (in and out of stock)
If units are out of stock online, it may be worth moving to a physical location. You will need to bring your membership card, or go with someone who has a membership. And be sure to wear a face mask (over your nose) or the retail associate will tell you to leave. If none are available in the store, the least you can do is walk out with a $5 rotisserie chicken.
xbox series x deals
Unfortunately, there are no Xbox Series X deals to report at this time. The demand for Microsoft’s consoles is so high — and the supply so short — that retailers have no incentive to offer Xbox Series X deals. In fact, we don’t expect to see any Xbox Series X deals until the next major retail holiday – Prime Day. And when Xbox Series X deals appear, we expect sales to come in the form of bundles and freebies, rather than dollar discounts.
However, it is possible to get Xbox Series X deals on games and accessories. Amazon often has Xbox controllers and accessories on sale, while Best Buy usually has many games on sale.

Xbox Series X Restock – Avoid the Scalpers
One of the reasons for the lack of Xbox Series X and Series S stock was scalpers snatching up large quantities of next-gen consoles in one sweep and then selling them off at exorbitant prices; We’re taking thousands of dollars for a $499 game console.
VGC reported that a now infamous PS5 scalper group known as CrepChiefNotify managed to snap up 1,000 Xbox Series X consoles as soon as they became available at UK retailer Very. But in a twist of fate, 1,000 Xbox Series X pre-orders were cancelled, somewhat torpedoing the scalpers’ efforts.
As frustrating as it can be to find an Xbox Series X or Series S, we suggest you avoid buying consoles from these scalpers. Paying massively for a console that doesn’t have a huge range of new Xbox Series X games isn’t a smart move for us…
