Is Terra’s Do Kwon the Bernie Madoff of Cryptocurrency?
hello and welcome back to Chain reaction a podcast where we unpack and explain the latest crypto news, drama and trends, breaking it down into blocks for the curious.
This week, Terra relaunched its Luna token after a sharp collapse in its cryptocurrency and its associated stablecoin. The new token has been sent out to the owners of the previous coin, which has now been renamed Luna Classic. But simply adding a new coin to customers’ wallets does not make up for the tens of billions of dollars of damage caused by the collapse of the ecosystem. We talked about the new token and the intensifying legal wrangling that Do Kwon and Terraform Labs may soon face as the South Korean authorities reportedly start tinkering.
In addition to Terra-related news, we shared some of the latest management efforts with Coinbase, which is increasingly in a difficult position. We also took a look at the latest efforts of OnlyFans founder Tim Stockley, who just launched NFT startup.
Our Guest: Outdoor Voices Founder Ty Haney
In our interview this week, we met with Ty Haney. Haney is best known as the founder of the Outdoor Voices sportswear empire, but after recently leaving the company, she is involved in NFT and is trying to build a new crypto future for brands with her startup Try Your Best. We talked about her new efforts and the challenges of building a sustainable cryptocurrency business in the midst of a market downturn.
