The Witcher 3 running on the Steam deck is a reminder of how cool The Continent looks.
Earlier today, the game series’ official Twitter account shared three clips of the iconic RPG playing on Valve’s upcoming handheld device, based on the current-gen version of the game.
Open a portal to the world and play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt wherever you go, when you run out of Steam decks! Watch footage of the current-gen version of the game playing on Steam Deck pic.twitter.com/3IdIC2zGZJOctober 6, 2021
The three clips are very diverse; sees Geralt riding a roach in Novigrad before disembarking in front of a small crowd of people; Another sees the White Wolf doing battle against an Earth element, including some healthy blasts of his igneous spell; The final clip shows Geralt walking through the village in the center of Velen’s crookback bog.
The team at developer CD Projekt Red didn’t comment on stage performance, but all three clips look like the game is running pretty smoothly despite several different spots on the display.
last month, Developers start getting their hands on the Steam deck, offering his impressions about the performance of the handheld. It’s the first time we’ve seen a major title on stage, and while an impressive Switch port in 2019 was the first time we could carry Geralt, the limited hardware on offer led to some graphical compromises.
Also interesting is that CD Projekt Red is choosing to feature the current-gen version of the game. TeaThe Witcher 3 PS5 and Xbox Series X Release Date Still scheduled for the second half of this year, but we haven’t heard much about the upgraded version yet.
