I think the last pre-built PC I bought was a 486DX4—custom-building my own PC has always seemed like an important part of being a “serious” PC gamer. But some of my PCG friends are opting to buy pre-built these days, and with systems like this kicking around it’s not hard to see why. Intel’s Core i5 10400F is very capable, and the 3060 Ti will make pretty much anything you throw at it. (30-series cards are also rare as hen’s teeth, so if a new GPU is a priority but the rest of your PC can be refreshed too, this could be a good way to rock two birds at once. )

GPU and CPU are supported by 16GB DDR4 RAM, a 600W 80 Plug Gold PSU (80 Plus Gold is a Energy Efficiency Rating), and a 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD, all wrapped in a sumptuously lit Roseville Zircom mid-tower case. “Gaming Keyboard and Mouse” is included, and Windows 10 is pre-installed.

As someone whose first SSD was a 512GB unit, it seems to me that this is one part of this unit that you might want to go for a bit bigger. Thus, we have Plan B: the same unit but with a new Core i5 11400F CPU and 1TB NVMe SSD. It also has a slightly more muscular 650W 80 Plus Gold power supply, and it comes in a separate case, the Gamdias Argus M1. ok so it’s not Correct same system. It is close!

This prebuilt system combines a capable Intel Core i5 CPU and 16GB of DDR4 with an Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti, a GPU that remains in very short supply. It looks so cute, a great all-in-one solution for new PC gamers or anyone looking to update to an aging rig.

For $100 more, you can upgrade the ABS rig to an Intel Core i5 11400F CPU and 1TB SSD. You’re also going to get a 650W 80 Plus Gold PSU (compared to the 600W in the above unit) and a slightly flashier case. Overall, I’d say it’s a worthwhile upgrade, but any of these systems will take care of you for a while.

I think it’s worth the extra 100 to get a little more meat on the bone, but any of these units will set you up pretty well and at a good discount. Added bonus: no worries about accidentally cutting your motherboard in half when trying to fit a CPU cooler. As someone who knows that particular concern, I can tell you that it is well worth a few bucks.
