Streaming of Tonal Live Workout will start from October 20
Tonal, which offers an at-home connected strength training machine, is adding to its library of on-demand exercise programs by launching a Peloton-like live class service called Tonal Live. Classes are starting from 20th October.
During classes, coaches will give you pacing cues, feedback on your workout, and shout-outs. according to a press release. The machine’s homescreen and app are also getting a redesign that allows “search for and schedule live workouts, an on-demand library of past live workouts, and the ability to preview movements in workouts.” Tonal is also adding a “social area” where users can interact.
A notable gap in Tonal’s offerings has been corrected by the addition of live classes. the former ledge Employee Nat Garun criticized the fact that Tonal did not offer live classes in his January 2020 review of the machine, saying that pre-taped sessions could feel overly rehearsed or become stale over time. For Tonal users who are bored with the classes currently available, live sessions can provide some routine variation to the workout.
Like the Peloton bike, however, a tonal machine doesn’t come cheap—it costs $2,995 and has a monthly subscription fee.
