So, you follow a friend who is extremely annoying on Instagram. Do not worry. You have options.
You may think that unsubscribing is okay. Maybe you are a little smarter and think about the so-called “soft blocking” of them.
Be careful though. If you’re trying to keep the real world friendship, blocking or unsubscribing of any kind can be construed as an act of hostility. Instead, you could just disable their account. There are several ways to do this on the Instagram mobile app.
And, of course, if you decide to end up detoxing, you can always turn on the person.

How to Mute Someone on Instagram
1. Go to the profile page of the person you want to disable.
2. Click “Subscriptions” and select “Mute” from the menu that appears.
3. You can choose whether to turn off their stories or their messages.
You can also mute the person whose message appeared in your feed. Just click on the three dots at the top right of the message, select “hide” and the mute options will appear.
How to turn on the microphone on Instagram
Follow the same steps and turn off the disabled messages and mute options.
