Mark Rotblat, director of revenue for Tubi, said in a statement:

“Tubi’s approach to personalization makes it possible to create content for every community, and our record growth shows that it’s working. We are doubling down on this approach by providing transparency to our brand partners and the ability to reach additional, diverse and highly engaged consumers.”

In addition to the new originals, more linear offerings will be added to the platform, including Fox Entertainment’s “The Masked Singer” and Study Ramsay Global’s “Gordon Ramsay” channels.

The free, ad-supported streaming service will also continue to maximize synergies across the entire Fox portfolio, such as co-production with Bento Box Entertainment, MarVista Entertainment, and monthly documentaries and specials from Fox Alternative Entertainment and TMZ.

Actress Vivica A. Fox hosted the Tubi presentation and was quick to say that the platform has “the largest free ad library of movies and TV shows you can find anywhere.” Overall, its content library consists of over 40,000 titles and contains over 100 sports and local news channels.

Tubi content director Adam Lou Winston said:

“While other companies focus on creating a small group or originals with a wide reach, Tubi builds a huge library of originals to serve fandoms…originals.”

While Adam apologized for the clumsy dad joke, he also chided competitors for cutting original content. Netflix Recently had to cancel a bunch of titles.

He then shared that Tubi was able to “capture an audience that our competitors don’t have.” More than a quarter (27%) of Tubi users are not available on other AVOD (ad-supported video on demand). According to Adam, 78% of streamers are not on Peacock, 68% are on the Roku channel, and 62% are on Hulu.

The company prides itself on being accessible to a wide audience. According to Tubi’s latest report, “The Stream: 2022 Audience Insights for Brandsresults show that 71% of Tubi viewers are not available on cable, 56% are not available on linear TV, and 27% are not available on any other major free streaming platform.

That being said, AVOD is likely to surpass SVOD (Video on Demand) this year, according to industry data. For example, in 2021, the SVOD audience grew by 8% compared to last year, while the AVOD audience doubled to 16%. This trend will continue, the Tubi report says, narrowing the roughly 5 percent gap between AVOD and SVOD market penetration.
