Rumor mill: The Nvidia RTX 4000 series is getting closer every day, which means the internet is filled with leaks, rumors, and pure speculation. The final set of alleged specs are for the RTX 4070 Ti, a card that will presumably be so powerful that it “could easily match the RTX 3090 Ti.”
Ada Lovelace’s latest leak comes from a familiar source: prolific Twitter user Kopite7kimi. They claim that the RTX 4070 Ti will feature a full-fledged AD104 GPU and be so powerful that it can match Ampere’s current flagship, the RTX 3090 Ti.
Built on TSMC’s N4 technology node, this AD104 GPU is said to have 7680 CUDA cores or 60 SM blocks, 30 billion transistors, and up to 160 ROPs. We also expect the RTX 4070 Ti to feature 48MB of L2 cache and 12GB of 21Gb/s GDDR6X memory on a 192-bit bus for a maximum bandwidth of 504GB/s.
As I mentioned earlier, there is a 400W AD104 model.

As we’ve seen in just about every Lovelace leak, the RTX 4070 Ti is also a power hungry card. The claimed 400W TDP is not far from the RTX 3090 Ti’s 450W TDP.
Compared to the RTX 3090 Ti built on Samsung’s 8nm process, the RTX 4070 Ti has an advantage of 1.7 billion additional transistors and a more modern process, while the Ampere card outperforms CUDA (10,752), GDDR6X cores. memory (24 GB, also at 21 Gb / s) and a memory bus (384-bit).
Not only can the RTX 4070 Ti match the RTX 3090 Ti in terms of performance, it should also be a lot cheaper than the current-gen card that Nvidia recently reduced with an MSRP of $1,999 to $1,599.

Of course, all new generations of GPUs offer improved performance over their predecessors, but the rumors and leaks surrounding Lovelace suggest this jump could be big. In addition to the latest claims that a mid-range product can match the current generation flagship, we recently heard that the RTX 4090 could be twice as fast like the RTX 3090 and 66% faster than the RTX 3090 Ti. But at the average selling price The fall of the RTX 3000 seriesthe decision of whether to buy an Ampere card now or wait until Lovelace comes out is not an easy one.
