As part of the answer to the question whether Boseman recorded any lines for What If…? Season 2, Andrews explained that T’Challa Star-Lord may have starred in his series before Boseman’s death.
“I don’t know if he [Boseman] It knew, but with that universe and crew there were plans to have star Lord T’Challa on their show,” Andrews admitted. “We were all very excited. We know he must have loved it too. And then, you know, he passed away, and so that’s all in limbo. So, who knows? May be one day.”
Even if what if…? Representing Boseman’s final performance to date, the actor continues to inspire and make a positive impact on the lives of many. A. What if…? question that will never be answered
It’s bittersweet to hear that T’Challa Star-Lord would have received its own Disney Plus spinoff show.
T’Challa’s portrayal of Boseman in the MCU is as iconic a performance as you’re likely to find. And yet, as with the likes of Andrews and What If…? He had more fun voicing T’Challa Star-Lord in lead writer AC Bradley, Marvel’s animated anthology series.
Given that T’Challa Star-Lords What If…? The episode was a popular Season 1 entry, it’s not surprising to learn that a spinoff show was in development. It’s clear that Boseman had a blast portraying a completely different version of T’Challa, so it’s going to be a wild ride to see him go on a new adventure each week.
The show would surely have attracted a lot of viewers on a weekly basis as well. Boseman was a hugely popular figure for his humility and selflessness, and it can be fun to explore a new concern from the Marvel Multiverse with him.
Now, it wouldn’t feel right if Marvel Studios pressed on with a T’Challa Star-Lord spinoff series. Sure, they can bring in a voice actor who Courage Be able to make a good impression of Boseman’s T’Challa, but it won’t perception Rights.
The reaction from fans is something even Marvel and Disney would not want to face. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed that Boseman’s T’Challa will not be brought back using VFX in Black Panther 2 – a move that has been welcomed by fans of the MCU.
So hiring someone else to voice your character on the spinoff show is highly unlikely. Marvel doesn’t want to tarnish its reputation, or Boseman’s legacy, by going ahead with the T’Challa Star-Lord TV show without the iconic star. Provided it hasn’t done so already, Marvel would be doing the right thing if it canceled T’Challa’s spinoff show altogether.
